Family Pictures

As I was looking through our family pictures (to get some prints to put on our sad, bare walls) I realized that our last family pictures were taken a year ago...while we were still in MA...when the twins were tiny...it was definitely time for some new family photos! I enlisted a talented friend to take some family pics at a nearby park, but we discovered that it was a LOT easier to get good photos when the twins were immobile...Here are a few of the challenges we faced.
Not great at listening to directions - we often had pictures where the twins were looking in the OPPOSITE direction.
Our family is so cool that we had someone trying to join us (do you see her?).
The apples I brought to keep twin tummies full (and therefore happy) ended up being TOO enticing, and Allie stuffed her mouth full and screamed when we took them away. Resulting in pictures like this.
(note: yes, Ryan is pushing E away from joining another family picture. Poor girl!)
A fun picture in the leaves resulted (multiple times) in one kid trying to run away while the other one screamed (and they took turns).
A cool photo of us walking hand-in-hand down the sidewalk turned into this...
And then when we decided to switch to chasing them down the sidewalk they raced for the football - not on the sidewalk at all...
...and when Allie was the first to the ball, it ended like this!
We finally gave up and let the kids play football...
Did we get some good photos? Yes...hopefully they will be better after some photoshopping (you know, to get 4 smiling faces in 1 picture...). Although, I have to confess that I like some of these better. A perfect picture would be nice for the Christmas card, but these pictures have personality :) Stay tuned for the official family pics...

This is way too funny. This happened to us once. I never put the pictures out but the kids didn't want to have pictures taken and every picture someone has an ugly face. Especially the parents. I love these pictures, I sat at work and laughed my head off. By the way Kim, you look great :)Thanks for sharing... I so desperately need to update my pictures of the twins, if one more person asks me why they don't have hair i will scream. I keep telling them they are babies in these pictures ....can't you see. haha
Love from Nana

My favorite is the one where Allie is running toward the camera while Lucas is running away. I have seriously considered putting it on our Christmas card :) I have some credits to redeem at snapfish so I will be putting pictures up soon, but probably not until we get back from Lala's because I have way too much to do before we leave!

I totally understand the trials of taking pics of toddlers. I'd like to say it gets easier, but then there are fake smiles, and not wanting their picture taken, etc. etc. etc. I love the candids that really show personality and the time of life you are in. Thanks for the smiles!

So delightful, Kim!! But I don't think you were feeling delightful all the time! I love the photos on the bridge---so clever. The larger a family gets the very much harder it is to get a photo with everyone looking their best on it. Jon is very good at switching good faces from another photos and putting it on the good one. I did a LOT of that when we had the newspaper to make everyone look their best. I also cropped photos to make everyone look their best as I wanted to bless the people, not embarrass them. Grandma
