Happy Birthday Laura Jane!!!

Our precious little neighbor girl, who has been mentioned in many posts, turned 1 year old yesterday. For those who have visited us and met Laura Jane, you know how cute she is, but with each day and each new developement she gets even more adorable. Currently, she is trying to say "Lukey" and "Kimmy" and we hope to be the first non-family names added to her vocabulary. I (Kim) hate to say it, but I think Lukey might be her favorite of the two of us. I would like to say that he has an unfair advantage because I come home shortly before her bedtime and he has more daytime hours for games of peek-a-boo. However, they had a bonding experience recently when I got stuck at work and Lukey had to babysit. Despite the fact that within 15 minutes she got a bloody lip on the toy box and fell off the couch, when I got there she wouldn't come to me at all and Lukey had to feed her and rock her to sleep. She is a little girl after our own heart as her favorite toys are books, and we can only hope our children have as extensive of a library as she has. She also loves cows and often moos (the cutest thing EVER!!!) Can you tell we're a little infatuated with this little girl??? Her 1st birthday party was a blast (as you can see from the pictures). Surprisingly, she wasn't a fan of her cake, although she dove into it as if she were in a pie eating contest - hands back, head first. She did seem to like the whip cream frosting though. Tell me, how could you not be absolutely in love with this little girl??

How cute, the first birthday is like no other. Everything is so new and" messy". Our little Kathryn (Pat's granddaughter will turn 1 on May 17th.) and we wish we could be there to share it with her. They live in Maryland and Pat has to have shoulder surgery so we will have to enjoy the party via email.
Enjoy your time with this little cutie.
Love aunt darleen

Hi Kim, the article was fun! I met her when I was there so it was fun to enjoy her birthday, too. I took photos of Donna when we got together and will get them in the mail when I get them back. She has grown so much already. I love the name "Lukey"! Have a blessed Easter! Ne G & G

Just showed Grandma the pictures of Baby Laura Jane. She is adorable, but has changed alot since we'seen her. Sounds like you two have spent many hours with her and are having alot of fun. So how are Baby Laura Jane's parents doing? No one ever mentions them?? But I know how that is. Grab the kids and leave the parents standing there. Loved the picture of the rock rolled away. xo see you soon at the big 50 Party, it's too bad dad is turning 50. haha. love Mom in MI.
