CBD Warehouse Sale

Today was the big CBD (Christian Book Distributors) Warehouse Sale, which is located about 20 mins down the road. The doors opened at 7 am and we were in line behind about 50 people at 5:50 am. Inside the warehouse, they have these bargain tables where books and other items are almost all at least 50% off and many are 75% to 95% off. The areas are divided into numerous sections with the to most popular being the Academic area for seminarians and pastors and the Homeschooling sections for the myriad of homeschool mothers and the children she has forced to come along to carry all the books around. It was quite the scene. In the end I was able to add over $1500 worth of books to my library at the reasonable cost of $260 including two complete commentary sets and two partial sets. I can't wait for the next one in September!

I can't believe I was beat the allusion, but oh well, I blame it on travelling. Btw, I'm ashamed that you weren't camped out in front the night before - such an epic opportunity missed, and don't give me any of this "but I'm married now!" bologna - I won't take it.

lucas... sorry I have to dominate your hillsdale tournament challenge... although there is one person out there who can still pull it off.

yeah, yeah. I remember looking at your picks on the first day and laughing at your final four picks. Both you and Billy G. But now I can only laugh at 4 other people who somehow found a way to do worse than me. I have shamed myself.

Hi Lucas, Wow! Count me in on a book sale!! Books is my middle name! It's hard for me to pass a bookstore and not stop in. I have a healthy monetary limit, which I reach very quickly and then have to pay and get out of there. While Grandpa was at St. E's this past week they had a book sale in the 'Rose Room' and you can bet I was there. Got some great bargains which I'll read and pass on to others. Life is good. Hi to Kim, NE Grandma. Grandpa is doing great!

Oh sure Millers... back in the day such stake-outs would have begun at 5:00 PM THE NIGHT BEFORE, with The Matrix and at least four matresses and fiascos. Youre slipping, LDM... but congrats nonetheless...

Ok people. Back during my bachelor days, waiting in line over night for rummage sales was commonplace. But sadly time has caught up with me. I'll try to do better next time. If I had some other folks to support an overnight adventure, I'd be more game to do it. Hint, hint.

I think it is fair to say that this makes up for Minnesota.
