At least 75%...

At least 75% of the 28% of the members of Westgate have voted for me to be their next associate pastor. What this means is that I was voted in last night. 25% refers to the number of members needed to hold a vote and 75% was the amount that needed to vote in favor of me. So today was my first day as an associate pastor. It was a humble start as I spent most of it cleaning out my office, which had been used for temporary storage. We are very excited to begin and covet your prayers as I adjust to this position. I do have some anxiety, but I think that just comes with starting a new position, especially one with such responsibility. It's going to be a busy three months until I finish school, but it's only three months! I'll keep you informed.

So I've been meaning to tell you this for a while, but keep forgetting. I was watching some TV show and there was this actor and I KNEW I had seen him in something before, but I could not for the life of me figure it out. It was driving me nuts! So I spent about an hour looking online, trying to figure it out, but nothing. The next morning, however, I woke up and somehow I knew where I had seen the actor before. You guessed it: RadioLand Murders - Best Movie Ever!

schellhammer,
Manthei? That was unbelievable! He actually won! I have no idea though why he passed up the first showcase. Never pass up the showcase with the car!

Congratulations Lucas! You will be a wonderful pastor through God's strength and grace!

Okay crazy! That was actually one of my last days of maternity leave so I was home with Syd. While I took a shower (a hard thing to do with an infant), I left the TV on to keep her company (and so she thought I was still in the room). When I went to check on Syd, I heard a familiar voice on the TV and turned to see the camera focused on Adam. I was stunned! Then I had the same reaction as you....don't pass on the showcase with the car...it's always the good one! But, at least he won...and he won a lot of money worth of prizes. I didn't recognize any of the other people who came running up onto stage afterwards, so I'm not sure what group he was with, but from his shirt it looked like it was some sort of big group outing. It was certainly Manthei's moment in the spotlight!

First I was really sorry to hear about your grandfather. Sorry I didn't read the post sooner.

Second, congratulations on official pastordom. It makes sense.

Third, thank you for remembering my half-birthday. I am still amazed at the post you put up for my 30th.

Fourth, you will be happy to know that I have found a church that I think I can stick with. To add to the fun, the service was all in Japanese and I actually understood it, with the help of my dictionary. That helped me to feel like maybe I am not wasting my time here after all.

Fifth, I will try to call you one of these days soon. 867-5309, right?

Sixth, 'Let me ride that donkey donkey' has somehow been a part of my life two out of the last three days.

Se7enth, completion.
