Reading and Recuperating

Sorry for the apparent neglect. Actually let me be more precise with my words. Sorry for the neglect of the blog. I have recently been in the "zone" and have been focusing on my studies. But seriously no excuse, b/c how long does it take to write a few words? Here's a briefing for you: I am just finishing up my first reading week of the semester and Kim has been sick with Strep throat and we think an additional viral infection, so please keep her in your prayers as she is sick of being sick for the past week. I am busy preparing exegesis papers on Psalm 8 and another on 1 Tim 3:1-7. Any thought on those verses? We've been spending quite a bit of time in our apartment with Kim sick and really the only other places I have been are the bookstore where I work and the library for a few hours here and there. We want to send out a big congratulations to our friends Billy and Megan on the birth of their first child, Evelyn! Hopefully I'll keep up a little better. Oh and since we are big "American Idol", "24" and Detroit Pistons fans, please leave any thoughts or questions in the comments, and you will definitely get a response! Peace out.

White Out

Well Kim and I enjoyed a Sunday inside as a blizzard dumped snow on us all day. We received somewhere between 15'' to 20'' of snow, and I know that drift behind my car was definitely over 2 feet high. Since the snowstorm was so well broadcasted days in advance, most of us knew that we would be here Sunday morning and not driving to church. Our neighbors, Josh and Kim, held a worship service in their apartment that was attended by 25 people. It was very refreshing to worship together with our friends and neighbors. We were bound to have this snowstorm because it's been almost spring like up here for the past several weeks. We had hot chocolate this morning; the first time in weeks. We never feel like having it unless there is snow on the ground. Back to business though tomorrow.

Do the Florida Shuffle!

I know we got back from Florida two weeks ago but I just have not been inspired to post. But I have read the demands for the new post so here I write. We had a terrific time with her Grandparents down in the Florida sun and are convinced that God must be calling us to a warm weather climate to minister in the future. We played plenty of cards and dominos but had the most fun playing shuffleboard on their professional courts. We went to a Breakfast club where most of the residents of this retirement community met for coffee and doughnuts. I'm pretty sure we were the youngest people there by 30 years easy. We also got to hang out with Kim's aunt Cindy who drove up from Naples to Sarasota to see us. When we were out and about, her grandparents had a handicap parking permit, which was great, except that we were in Florida, so all the handicap spots were taken most of the time. We ate out quite a bit and had two very good homecooked meals at two different Amish restaurants. Her grandparents treated us like royalty and helped us enjoy a great weekend away from work and school, which we are now back in full swing. I'm looking forward to my reading week in 10 days.
